Implementation of Digital Image processing in Calculating Normal Approach for Spherical Indenter Considering Elastic/Plastic Contact

In this work a study and calculation of the normal approach between two bodies, spherical rough flat surface, had been conducted by aid image processing technique. Four kinds metals different hardening index used as surface specimens capturing images resolution 0.006565 mm/pixel good estimate may be obtained compression tests done in strength material laboratory mechanical engineering department, Monsanto tensometer to conduct indentation tests.A light section measuring equipment microscope BK 70x50 was calculate parameters texture profile like standard deviation asperity peak heights, centre line average, density radius asperities.A Gaussian distribution height assumed calculating theoretical value elastic plastic regions where compared with those experimentally verify results.
